Final Flood Warning For The Barron River

NO FLOODING EXPECTED DOWNSTREAM OF BARRON FALLS
Rainfall totals of 60-153 mm were recorded in the 24 hours to 9am Saturday across the Barron River catchment, with most of the rainfall falling during Friday evening. This rainfall caused river level rises and areas of minor flooding early Saturday morning in the catchment downstream of Tinaroo Dam through to Barron Falls.
No significant rainfall is forecast for the remainder of the weekend.

Barron River downstream of Tinaroo Dam to Barron Falls:
River levels are generally easing during Saturday afternoon across the Barron River catchment. Some isolated minor flooding remains on the Barron River at Bilwon, and in the Clohesy River at Bolton Road.
Barron River downstream of Barron Falls:
No flooding is expected downstream of Barron Falls.
The Barron River at Kamerunga Bridge is currently at 2.89 metres (below minor) and falling.
The Barron River at Kamerunga Bridge will remain below the minor flood level (5.00 m) during Saturday.

The Barron River at Cairns Airport is currently at 1.83 metres (below minor) and steady with the turning tide.
The Barron River at Cairns Airport is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.50 m) during Saturday.
