Minor Flood Warning For The Diamantina River
Issued at 10:41 AM EST on Wednesday 26 February 2020
Flood Watch Number: 14

River levels will remain below the level of the Springvale Diamantina Lakes Road Causeway. Floodwaters reached Birdsville a week ago, with river levels continuing to rise very slowly.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible in the upper catchment for the next two days.

Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:
Isolated moderate falls have been recorded around Winton in the 24 hour to 9 am Wednesday, which may cause renewed river level rises downstream.
No observations are available for Birdsville manual gauge, however the DEWNR automatic gauge shows floodwaters have reached the Birdsville area (below minor) with river levels rising very slowly.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville may exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) during the weekend.
