Final Flood Warning For The Lower Diamantina River

FLOODING IS EASING ALONG THE LOWER DIAMANTINA RIVER
The lower Diamantina River at Birdsville and Roseberth (information location) has fallen below the minor flood level during Wednesday morning. Floodwaters from the lower Diamantina River (QLD) have moved into the South Australian border area.
No significant rainfall has been recorded across the Diamantina River catchment in the past week. No significant rainfall is forecast over the next few days.

Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:
Flooding is easing along the lower Diamantina River downstream of Birdsville.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville (Police Station, station number 038002) was at 3.75 metres (below minor) 9:00 am Wednesday and falling. The river level is about 1.35 metres below the approaches of the Eyre Developmental Road (5.10 m).
The Diamantina River at Birdsville is expected to remain below the minor flood level (4.00 m).
