Final Flood Warning For The Fitzroy River

FLOODING EASING IN THE FITZROY RIVER AT WILLARE
Heavy rainfall in the past week caused stream level rises, areas of flooding and adverse road conditions as flood waters travelled downstream. While Willare is still above minor flood level (8.00 m), no further significant rainfall is expected and flooding impacts will gradually ease in the coming days.
In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Thursday, no significant rainfall has been recorded over the Fitzroy River catchment.
No significant rainfall is forecast for remainder of Thursday into Friday.
River rises may adversely affect road conditions while river levels subside, roads may still be impacted sometime.Check road conditions before travelling.

Fitzroy River from Noonkanbah to Willare:
Flooding is easing, providing no further rainfall falls, no further flooding is expected in the Fitzroy River from Noonkanbah to Willare.
The Fitzroy River at Willare peaked at 8.39 metres around 05:00 pm Tuesday 08 February and is currently at 8.28 metres and falling with minor flooding.
The Fitzroy River at Willare is likely to fall below the minor flood level (8.00 m) during Thursday.

DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.}
