Major Flood Warning For The Lower Condamine River And Upper Balonne River
Issued at 11:59 AM EST on Monday 17 February 2020
Flood Watch Number: 25

Major flood levels are peaking at Condamine Township on the Condamine River and at Warkon on the upper Balonne.
A major flood peak is nearing Condamine township and is working its way downstream throughout this week.
No significant rainfall has been recorded in the past 24 hours. No significant rainfall is expected over the next few days.

Condamine River downstream of Loudoun Bridge to Cotswold:
Minor flooding continues along the Condamine River between Loudoun Bridge and Chinchilla Weir during Monday.
River height observations from Ranges Bridge station are not available however river levels are expected to be around the minor flood level (6.0 metres) during Monday.
The river level at Ranges Bridge may remain around the minor flood level (6.00 m) during Monday and continue to ease.

The Condamine River at Chinchilla Weir is currently at 7.91 metres (minor flooding) and falling.
The river level at Chinchilla Weir is expected to remain above the minor flood level (6.00 m) during Monday and continue to ease.

The Condamine River at Condamine is currently at 8.15 metres (major flooding) and peaking.
The river level is expected to remain above the major flood level (8.00 m) Monday afternoon. Moderate flooding (7.00 m) is expected to continue for the remainder of the Monday.

Charleys Creek:
Minor flood levels are easing upstream of Chinchilla at Berncluith Bridge during Monday.
The Charleys Creek at Chinchilla is currently at 3.42 metres (below minor) and steady.

Balonne River to Surat:
Major flooding is occurring along the Balonne River to Surat.
The Balonne River at Warkon is currently at 9.60 metres (major flooding) and rising.
The river level at Warkon is expected to remain above the major flood level (9.00 m) during Monday. The river level is likely to peak near 10.00 metres later Tuesday or Wednesday.

The Balonne River at Surat is currently at 7.56 metres and rising.
The Balonne River at Surat is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (7.00 m) during Monday and continue to rise. The river level may exceed the major flood level (9.00 m) and peak near 9.30m later in the week. Peak predictions will be refined once Warkon has peaked.

Balonne River downstream of Surat to Beardmore Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Balonne River downstream of Surat to Beardmore Dam.
River levels at Warroo (automatic station) are currently 7.91 metres and steady.
The Balonne River at Warroo may exceed the minor flood level (9.00 m) later in the week.

Balonne River downstream of Beardmore Dam:
Inflows are continuing to be recorded at Jack Taylor Weir during Monday as a result of releases from Beardmore Dam.
River height observations are not available for the manual at St George however based on the automatic gauge it is expected to be below the minor flood level (6.00 metres).
The Balonne River at St George may exceed the minor flood level (6.00 m) during Monday with further rises expected later in the week.
