Cancellation Severe Thunderstorm Warning

for Central West, Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego Forecast Districts.

Issued at 4:50 am Friday, 7 August 2020.

Severe thunderstorms have eased however are expected to redevelop about the southern and central interior later today.

Weather Situation
A vigorous upper trough moving across central Australia is causing widespread rain areas and isolated thunderstorms across the southern and central interior.

Warnings for Friday 07 August

cancellation severe thunderstorm warning for the following areas:
Central West, Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in QUEENSLAND.
The immediate threat of severe thunderstorms has passed, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will likely be issued later today.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.

No further warnings will be issued for this event.
Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
